About Us Located in the Western Piedmontof North Carolina, EcoLogic Engineering/Construction provides water resources engineering, geo-environmental and natural resource management consulting and design services to local governments, industry, non-profits, and the legal profession. Engineers, biologists, hydrologists, geographers and other scientists address issues listed on our service offerings page. We target teams to specific project needs and advantages of a larger company without the associated overhead.
In addition to consulting, EcoLogic is a design-build contractor, offering turn-key project delivery. EcoLogic Construction, Inc. is a licensed general contractor (highway classification). Both firms are fully insured, and EcoLogic Construction can provide bid, payment and performance bonds. EcoLogic’s

He is a Professional Engineer and a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) with 22 years of civil/environmental project design and construction management experience. He received BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from NC State University. He successfully completed the NC Stream Restoration Institute River Courses (a six-course series on Rosgen techniques for stream classification, assessment and natural channel design). His areas of relevant expertise include project and construction management, erosion and sediment control, geosynthetics applications, geotechnical engineering, permitting, and stormwater management. Email: Mark@ecologic-nc.com Kenneth A. Bridle, Ph.D. is EcoLogic’s Principal Biologist. Dr. Bridle is a plant physiologist and wetland scientist with a Ph.D. in Biology from Wake Forest University. His areas of relevant expertise include stream and wetland restoration/ stabilization, environmental assessment and permitting, benthic monitoring, riparian buffer vegetation planning and management, control of invasive exotic plant species, and conservation planning. Dr. Bridle has completed Level 4 training in River Restoration and Natural Channel Design from Wildland Hydrology (Dave Rosgen). Dr. Bridle has authored numerous manuals on wetlands and wetland plants and inventories of natural heritage areas. He is certified by the NCDWQ in sampling protocols for benthic macro invertebrates to meet biological monitoring requirements associated with stream restoration. He also conducted a CWMTF-funded study published as Riparian Corridor Conservation Design for the Upper Dan River (1999), which is being used to develop statewide watershed protection plans. He has authored several topical manuals, including recent publications on wetland restoration and management in the Southeast Piedmont and Mountains, NC native plant propagation, and Natural Heritage Inventories of Piedmont North Carolina counties and watersheds. She has a BS in Natural Resources from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters of Biological and Agricultural Engineering from NC State University. Ms. Slate contributes experience and specialized training in stream assessment, restoration design and construction, hydrology and hydraulics, urban stormwater drainage, stormwater BMP’s such as bioretention areas, constructed wetlands, wet detention ponds, sand filters, and riparian buffers; erosion and sediment control, and FEMA applications. She is a member of ASCE-EWRI’s River Restoration Committee, Hydraulics and Waterways Council, and is serving on a specialized task committee investigating the Scientific and Ecological Basis for Urban Stream Restoration. The task committee is currently organizing a symposium on the subject to be presented at the World Water and Environmental Resources Conference in Philadelphia in June 2003. She completed Level 4 training in River Restoration and Natural Channel Design from Wildland Hydrology (Dave Rosgen). Email: Louise@ecologic-nc.co mKyle Hoover is EcoLogic’s CADD/GIS technician. He has a BA from UNC-Greensboro in geography concentrating in Urban and Environmental Studies with an emphasis in GIS. He is experienced in GPS data collection, data entry, remote sensing, small scale surveying, advanced cartography including map production, thematic map design and TIN modeling. He has experience conducting Rosgen Level 2 classifications and Level 3 assessments through participation on projects such as Snow Creek in Stokes County, NC and Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, NC. He provides graphic presentation and spatial data analysis and has experience with both raster and vector data using ESRI's ArcView, ArcInfo, Intergraph's MapInfo, AutoCAD, BOSS's River Modeling System, Golden's Surfer and Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop in addition to basic Microsoft Office computer applications.
